About Fuel Prices in Malaysia

Fuel prices in Malaysia are announced weekly by the government, typically taking effect every Thursday. RON95 petrol and diesel prices are subsidized and regulated by the government, while RON97 follows the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) based on global oil prices.

On 10 June 2024, diesel subsidies were removed in Peninsular Malaysia, leading to a discontinuous jump from RM2.15 to RM3.35 per litre. Therefore, beginning 13 June 2024, the weekly price of diesel was announced separately for Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Sarawak, Sabah, W.P. Labuan).
